Grandmother on my mom's side passed away yesterday. I'm supposed to be a pallbearer during the ceremony so I need to find some good clothes. We're leaving tomorrow and I won't be back until at least Sunday.

Dreams, flowers, desks, and carnies

I just had a weird dream (it's rare enough I have one at all) so I better jot it down now while it's still fresh in my head.

Well first off, I was playing what I assumed was HeartGold (yet I wasn't in any recognizable area) using the pokeradar. I ran into 3 shinies within minutes, but I can't remember what pokemon they actually were, I only recall the shiny patches of grass.
After all that I was in some mall building or something, and what was going on seemed like a mix of the Battle Frontier, a convention (for what I have no idea), and a contest where you would run through a store and grab as much merchindise as possible within a time limit for free, like how Toys R Us did way back when.
Anywho I was messing around the Frontier areas when I was picked for those grab-fest runs I mentioned. All I remember was running down a long flight of stairs to get to the stuff I wanted to grab, and dumping a bunch of miscellaneous things I can't even begin to recall into a bag, however I did run across a large shiny Eevee plush on the way. Made me think of Teirusu, who's birthday was yesterday. Happy birthday bro! :3
Also for some reason that scorpion bitch (sans tail) from Gurren Laggan who's name I can't recall was one of the frontier brains there.

Speaking of Pokemon, the Platinum event to recieve Oak's Letter, and thus, catch Shaymin at the Flower Paradise is on, I already got it and caught Shaymin on the first ball. I got lucky and got the bold nature I wanted from the first shot. Though what I wrote on the rock at Route 224 is a secret...

The desk I've been waiting for finally came, it's sitting by the front door for now until I bother putting it together and cleaning my room up, but that will have to wait because I'm leaving this weekend.

To go visit my dad and grandmother as the Red Flannel festival is this Saturday. I go there every year, and it's a nice way to kill time with folks. Usually there's stuff like a car show, various skits played out around town, a few rides I never really attend. I always go there for the parade and the carnie food. Bringing home a few bags of delicious caramel corn this year. >:3

Look I've pieced it together...

Yeah, it runs pretty great right now but I'm not really making heavy use of it until I get a desk to go with it. Sitting on the floor is not very comfortable for PC use.
And my desk doesn't come in 2 weeks....

I forgot to mention

We have another dog. Mother brought home another jack russel from a family that was getting rid of it. Her name is Penny and she's even tinier than Paisey; that's saying a lot.
The funny thing is that this dog almost instantly warmed up to me from day 1. She likes me a lot more than she does mother, which is fine, except when she's being way too clingy and whiny.
She's mostly white, with the only significant spot of brown over one of her eyes, giving an illusion that one eye is larger than the other, and she has crooked tooth that sticks out a bit and gives her a really funny look on her face most of that time.

She hasn't been here a week and she's already adjusting to how we live, I'm still baffled at why she chose me of all people to like most.

I dunno, I just saw people posting images catching my attention and eventually finding out "that's a pokemon?!"
Anyway, I like the looks, I like the abilities, and I like the qualities of the character so sue me.

Mario
I have no idea why she came up with this for me, I know perhaps a couple other people this would fit much better under, but whatever. Mario games have always been a pretty reliable franchise (save for a few notorious examples). Though I am a big fan of the RPG series, I'd say the (first two) Paper Mario games rate very high in my favorite RPGs of all time.

So today, I got a Japanese event Arceus from Gallade into Platinum.
But the highlight of this post I suppose is that there is going to be another Darkrai giveaway very soon, but it's not a Toys R Us event. This event is to unlock the inn in Canalave City that leads to Newmoon Island. It'll be done via Nintendo WFC on Mystery Gift, and I heard it's for Platinum only, but I don't see why it wouldn't work with Diamond or Pearl given that they both have data on Newmoon Island.
It runs from August 3rd to September 13th, so there's plenty of time to snag one if you want.

Oh and about those photos I said I was going to upload, I'm lazy.

Fucked up dreams 101

I'm not sure if I mentioned how rarely I actually recall the messed up visions I have in my sleep, but today I had a real crack-case.

So I was on a sort of field trip with what seemed like classmates (though none of them I could call by name, go figure) to a sort of mall. For some reason, I sort of floated around wherever we went rather than just walking; sort of just hovering a few inches above the ground.
The first thing we went to was a sort of nerd store with video and card games. We hung out there for a while, played a few games (including some weird version of Kirby Air Ride, no idea what that was about) and left to look around.

We stumbled on this little alcove in the complex that was starting to hold a bull fight. By then I had lost sight of my so-called classmates and found a seat for myself to watch. Not long after the bull started to go totally apeshit, so after he pretty much stomped the matador into the floor he started to attack the bleachers, starting with the ones on the left side of the arena relative to my view. Everyone panics and we run to the very top of the bleachers to take a "cargo tram" out to the exit...

So we all bunch into the tiny subway car (it was very short, my head was nearly touching the roof while sitting down on what was basically a flat floor) and are guided to the back exit, where they take in all the supplies, I guess.
So everything's fine and good until for some reason, I realize I left my DS and shit in there and freak out.

For those who don't know, I keep my DS and accessories (along with all my GBA games) in this sort of tiny backpack thing I bought from a store one day.
So I run back in, through the rioting crowd to look for it. Well turns out amongst all the chaos, most of the stores in the mall were closed and barred shut. I peeked through the window of the game store I was in earlier and saw it sitting on a windowsill near a back exit. I'm freaking out and trying to get a security guard to get it for me when some schmuck walks right by it, examines what's inside and casually strolls out the door, but not before looking back, seeing me, and giving me a shit-eating grin like he knows it's mine before leaving.

At that point I just about lose it (hey, DSphats are hard to come by these days, and I love mine) and start trying to break the glass door open. A quick check later I realize that my wallet's gone now, so now I'm even more panicked. I recall getting a glimpse of a security officer picking it up for me back out in the parking lot but I was too busy going after my games to really think about it, so I rushed back outside. Halfway out I realize I still have my cellphone in my pocket and pull it out, only to find that it wasn't mine at all, and it was a little roughed up from a spill I had outside beforehand.

Shortly after that I realize that for some reason my wallet's back in my pocket, too. I pull it out and sure enough it's mine, but then I looked inside. Everything was where it was supposed to be except for one thing, all the cards I keep in the left side pockets, including my driver's license and my debit/credit card. At that point I just yelled out a loud "SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!"

And then I woke up... abruptly.
I had explained it to my mother and she told me it could be because I was afraid of someone stealing something of mine while I was at my little vacation, which when I think back on it, is 100% true.
You see, it rained a lot during our trip this year, so I spent a lot of time just playing Pokemon in our cabin to get by. Well while we did have lights in our cabin, outlets we did not, and my DS's battery life isn't what it used to be these days. The only outlets I could plug into were in the lodge where aside from my grandmother's room, is pretty much free range. We had almost 15 little kids running around the place at all times, so I was pretty nervous of one of them getting their sticky little mitts on my stuff the whole time. At one point someone did move my stuff and I freaked out a little, before realizing that it was simply placed in my grandmother's room because they needed the outlet (such a limited commodity in this place) to recharge their camcorder.

Speaking of vacation, I'll get around to uploading those pictures sometime later tonight.

Road Trip

Blargh, I've been awake since 3PM yesterday and now I gotta drive for 3 hours to get back home today.
I'm gonna need more coffee.
I took some crappy pictures on the trip (nothing special, mostly the layout of the place) that I'll put up on my photobucket sometime. I'll give a detailed story with it, too, but right now I'm just trying to stay awake so I don't smash up another car.

Yeah, time for the annual trip to "Camp lack-a-winnebago" with my dad's side of the family. I'm already ad my dad's house and we're leaving Wednesday.
Pity I couldn't find anyone to go with me this year. One's off in another state, and the only other person worth asking didn't want to go.

Getting wet and meeting people

Last weekend I drove up to dad's for a few days to do a couple things. Saturday I went with my dad and apparently his new girlfriend to go kayaking down the Little Muskegon River. That lasted a good 3 hours, and my back was incredibly sore Sunday.
Speaking of Sunday, I went to meet someone I knew off of 4chan/MSN who happened to live in Grand Rapids and saw the new Transformers movie with him that night. Pity it was past midnight when it was finished and he had to work Monday, I wanted to do more with him.

Ain't nothin' but a ROM machine

So A few days ago I finally got the gumption to hack my Wii and install the homebrew channel on it. I put on emulators for NES, SNES, Genesis, GB/GBC/GBA on it. They all run fine except for GBA, which has to run on frameskip to stay up to speed; at least for Metroid Zero Mission.
Some pretty neat stuff is up on homebrew and I may take a closer peek into it in the future.

Continuing on about my horrible luck

My cable connection has been bogging down to really bad speeds when everyone in my neighborhood is on, sometimes to the point where it's comparable to dial-up.
I gave the cable company a call today and they said they'd send someone down tomorrow to take a look, I'm skeptical though.

I can not catch a fucking break here!

Guess what, My Wii is broken. It's not getting any power at all.
What the fuck do I do with all my save data now?

EDIT: Okay... false alarm. I had it unplugged from everything for a bit while I was looking up repair options at Nintendo's site (75 bucks?! Fuck you Ninty) then I plug it back in just for one last try and it works. My Wii just pulled a Jesus on me.

Also, I got the 4-1 reverse medal on Klonoa for anyone who's knowledgable. I think this would be a game n64_chick would like...

It's time for another edition of Good Idea, Bad Idea

Good Idea: Dropping 10 lbs.
Bad Idea: Doing it by barely eating at all.

Seriously, lately I've been getting nauseous whenever I eat anything, not to mention I've been rather... incontinent lately. I don't know what the hell's going on with me.

Since I haven't mentioned it here yet: I bought Klonoa for the Wii a while back. I love that flop-eared little bugger.

Mother says I may get her car once she gets back into a job; she says she'll probably buy a new one.
Dad still owes me $300 so I might think about finally buying a new computer once I have it all.
